Use Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to create transparent, company-wide goals that everyone can see and understand.
How might your organization change if every employee could see and understand the top-level company objectives? What barriers currently prevent this level of transparency?
Unless there’s a compelling reason not to, make information available to all. This includes strategic plans, financial performance, and key metrics.
What information do you currently restrict that could potentially be shared more broadly? What positive outcomes might result from sharing this information?
Make OKR progress visible to all, and conduct regular, open check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.
How comfortable would your teams be with their OKR progress being visible to everyone? What cultural shifts might be needed to make this work?
Create channels for employees at all levels to provide input, ask questions, and challenge assumptions.
How easy is it for a front-line employee in your organization to ask you a question or challenge a company decision? What could you do to make this easier?
Share not just successes, but also failures and challenges. This builds trust and encourages a culture of learning and innovation.
